چکیده

The increasing demand of manganese in the industries and various hindrances its production from low grade ores by conventional method has made it imperative for researchers around world to develop a extraction that is both environment-friendly economical. Bioleaching shown significant potential efficiencies have been found be 70–98% with help bacteria fungi. This study focuses on mixed bacterial strains collected their natural anaerobic environment where reducing activity was evident. reagent dioxide high ore studied over 180 days an at room temperature pH 5, without addition any mineral acids. Highest concentrations dissolved 928.58 mg Mn/L 864.54 manganese, corresponding 650 400 cumulative respectively.

Bioleaching of Low Grade Manganese Ore with Penicillium citrinum

A native microorganism, Penicillium citrinum was isolated from the top soil of a manganese mine. Based on its efficiency for manganese solubilisation, it was utilized for the leaching of a low-grade manganese ore. The effects of various parameters such as pulp density, particle size, sucrose concentration, inoculum size and bioleaching duration on manganese ore were studied. The optimised condi...

Review of Biohydrometallurgical Metals Extraction from Polymetallic Mineral Resources

This review has as its underlying premise the need to become proficient in delivering a suite of element or metal products from polymetallic ores to avoid the predicted exhaustion of key metals in demand in technological societies. Many technologies, proven or still to be developed, will assist in meeting the demands of the next generation for trace and rare metals, potentially including the br...

A New Direction for Biomining: Extraction of Metals by Reductive Dissolution of Oxidized Ores

Biomining, the biotechnology that uses microorganisms to extract metals from ores and concentrates, is currently used exclusively for processing reduced ores and mine wastes. Metals of economic value also occur extensively in oxidized ores, such as nickel laterites. While these are not amenable to oxidative dissolution, the ferric iron minerals they contain can, in theory, be disrupted by iron ...

Reductive dehalogenation of trichloroethene vapors in an anaerobic biotrickling filter.

Until now, it has not been possible to use biofiltration to treat trichloroethene (TCE) from waste gases generated by soil vapor extraction or dual-phase extraction at remediation sites because aerobic biodegradation of TCE is possible only via cometabolism, which is difficult to engineer on a large scale. This study looks at the possibility of conducting anaerobic gas-phase biotreatment of TCE...
